Waterkeeper Alliance supports our three Waterkeepers in Bangladesh. Our International Representative on the Waterkeeper Council, Sharif Jamil, Buriganga Riverkeeper in Dhaka, called on the Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Environment and Forest, and Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock to quickly execute a well coordinated clean-up and recovery from the devastating oil spill in the Sundarbans, We congratulate all the activists who protested against the use of chemical dispersants and encourage the use of sponges by trained personnel using protective gear.
