Wau Police Seize 3 Vehicles Smuggling Fuel Western Bahr el Ghazal State Acting Police Commissioner, Deng Malwal Mabur, has announced that the security patrol team had seized three vehicles smuggling fuel in Wau. 02 September 2013 WAU, [Gurtong] - “The security forces have also arrested 14 elements of suspects allegedly responsible with fuel smuggling,” Mabur said. Mabur mentioned that the suspects were believed to be businessmen who were trying purchase the fuel and store it in their secret stores and later on create shortage of fuel where they will be selling it at a high price. “These suspects will face law and our security will not sleep, they will continue to carry out their duties to crackdown on any attempts of fuel smuggling,” he said. The suspects were arrested at Aweil Jadid deeply into suburban area at night hour bearing to unknown place with fuel. The issue of fuel reminds a deep concern to the security including issuing several orders by the state government that band selling of petrol along the road. After several outbreaks of fire last year caused by fuel sellers along the road, the state government issued a ban describing it as a danger to the people.
