Way Fire Incident Fact Sheet August 20, 2014 8:00 pm Location: Wofford Heights, North side of Hwy 155 Start Date & Time: August 18, 2014 2:38 P.M. Acres: 3858 Containment 48% Total Personnel: 835 Estimated costs to date: $2,900,000.00 Cause: Under Investigation Unified Command: USFS, BLM, Kern County Today’s fire activity: On the north end of the fire rolling burning material continues to fall off the ridge line but helicopter water drops are keeping it in check. On the southern half of the fire good progress was made today as containment percentage continues to increase. Special Announcement: As of 4 p.m. today all evacuations have been lifted. Also there are no longer any road closures in place for the Way Fire. Firefighters and utilities companies continue to work in the area. Please drive with caution. Public Meeting: A public meeting occurred today at 6 p.m. in order to update affected residents and the general public.
