Way WAY back when I used to slam poetry competitively we used to liken the National Poetry Slam to the NCAA March Madness Tournament in order for it to make sense to contemporary Western Civilizationist who only comprendez professional sports references...and if I remember correctly, the Burque teams I was on won a national championship once or twice ;) All that to say, Ive been pondering the New Mexico Lobo Basketball loss and extended period of mourning and I remember walking out of the convention center to the most beautiful night sky I had ever seen the night we won NPS 2005. And I felt as blessed that we won, as I did that night when I inhaled the mesa and realized I lived in paradise (minus the water). So UNM Lobo Men, I only have two things to say. 1) Great season, keep ya head up. 2) The bright (literally BRIGHT) side is that you get to come back to 300+ days of sunshine a year. #AtLeastYouAreNotHeadedHomeToSunnyDurham :) P.S. Thats a bit unfair. I like Coach K, but I went to undergrad in NC, and they pretty much make you pick Duke or UNC (as if the Wolfpack dont even exist). And I always picked UNC. I got a lil bit of love for the Blue Devils...a lil bit.
