Way past midnight musings... I dont get whats so difficult about real teaching that people need to turn to cookie cutter curriculums. Children are born to learn and to master their environment. Challenging themselves and persevering till they succeed is part of their genetic make up. So why then do we fill their hours with meaningless information? Why do we waste their precious time? Why do we prevent them from learning the way nature intended? Why? Questions are the basis of the childs quest for knowledge. (In fact, does the word question itself not come from the word quest, which is to seek?) Follow those questions and the answers will naturally supply the child with the relevant information to make sense of the world in that moment. Children want to speak, read and write because communication is one of the soul purposes of the human experience. Through words the young child can express joy, sadness, excitement, wonder and experience another humans experience on this Earth. Through words the young child can experience magic and enter other worlds, other dimensions. Would any human consciously deny themselves of this pleasure? Nay, this human right?
