Way to go, MN! MN groups are organizing to get Gov Dayton to enact a statewide moratorium agains frac sand mining using the Critical Areas Act, created for just such places as the beautiful, historic, culturally important bluffs of SE MN. MN Industrial Sand Company, says, dont worry, no current permits for that area. BUT, WI Industrial Sand Company (yes, all Fairmount Minerals) has a number of permits for the WI side of those same bluff areas. The big difference (beside Gov Walker and his good friends, the Koch Brothers), is population density. We dont have the same population density in Western WI, but we have a lot of frac sand and more issued permits than any other state. We need to organize together, yall!
