Wayne Kraft said this a few hours ago,,,, I appreciate the warmth of the experience of human interaction. Let me say a word or two about the reason that I no longer focus too much on the personalities of political leaders. In the U.S., a great many citizens try to come to grips with the differences between the leaders of our two major political parties. We live in the most unequal country in the developed world. What seems to me to matter is not so much the personalities of one or another leader, but the enormous asymmetry of power between the very few exceedingly wealthy people and the vast masses of ordinary Americans. Despite the sham of contention between the two major parties, both presidential candidates and/or both parties will assuredly serve the interests of the plutocrats. In the case of Bibi and Mashaal its bit different. Israel is one of the most unequal countries in the developed world ... after the U.S. and the U.K., I think. But thats not the asymmetry that really matters at the moment. In Israel/Palestine, there is a vast asymmetry between the half of the population that has enjoyed a privileged position of supremacy for sixty-six years and a population that has not only been denied equal rights, but has been subject to dispossession, concentration, and expulsion. For that reason, it seems to me that focusing on Bibi and Mashaal is not very relevant. Id recommend focusing on equal rights of citizenship for all inhabitants of Israel/Palestine. That should take care of the Bibis and Mashaals.
