We Get What We Give. Ralph Waldo Emerson, in his essay, Law Of Compensation, wrote that each person is compensated in like manner for that which he or she has contributed. It says that we will always be compensated for our efforts and for our contribution in each and every walk of life, whatever it is, however much or however little. This Law of Compensation also says that we can never be compensated in the long term for more than we put in. For example, the income we earn today is our compensation for what we have done in the past. If we want to increase our compensation, we must increase the value of our contribution.
