We (Gregory MIller, Shaun Miller, and myself) had a meeting this - TopicsExpress

We (Gregory MIller, Shaun Miller, and myself) had a meeting this evening with the critical care team in Moms room with her. We explained the seriousness of the situation to her, and after several alternative care discussions, I had to explain to Mom that she is not going home. She wanted transferred to a hospice house close to home, and again had to explain she wouldnt survive the trip. She started crying as she understood how serious this is. After Shaun and Dad left I went into the room and had a private conversation with her. Near the end of the conversation she asked me to extubate her (remove her ET or breathing tube). I started crying and asked her not to ask me to do things like that. Trust me wjen I say that the worst thing that human being could ever experience is when you have to look at the person who brought you into this world in the eye, and tell them that they are going to die, and they cant go home.....and when they ask you to end it all. Mom became very depressed and started crying. I told her we need to celebrate your life while shes still on Earth, and enjoy her last moments with us. Mom has always been a fighter, and the Doctors here at Walter Reed have told her continuously that she is a walking miracle. I want everyone to remember that she never gave up. Mom is at the best hospital in the world, with the best providers ever trained on this planet. I will grieve for Mom, but I also know that Jesus will greet her with a smile, a hug, and she will be in no pain, and breathing perfectly. She was always there for us, and until her last breath I will be there for her. Please continue to pray for Mom and the rest of the family. #PrayforSue #MillerArmy #CancerSucks
