We LOVE this review from a recent visitor on Trip Advisor! Tell us, what is your favorite part of Cheekwood? “A Day Away” 5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014 NEW This place is an amazing gem. We love how the exhibits change: we laughed our way through the scarecrows, oohed and aahhed through the Christmas lights, loved the treehouse exhibit and we currently think the big sculpture exhibit is hilarious. But, no matter what the exhibit, we LOVE having time away from the chaotic bustle of everyday life into a different, calming escape. My girls particularly love: - the ponds. They have such fun walking along the edges, looking for tadpoles and collecting monkey brains. I love how there is shaded seating near the ponds, benches and picnic tables alike. - the playground. This is a recently added feature, the swing in the treehouse. My girls love it. - The clubhouse in one of the gardens. My girls and I spent 2 hours having a tea party and pretending that they had just bought a new house here. Weve been on days when we sought shelter in this little house from the rain. - The gazebo and train. - the fields. They roll down hills. They run through the sprinklers. They cartwheel, laugh and generally have such fun just being kids. Without iPads or anything electronic! Once, we came for the day and I bought each of us a new book. We spread out on a blanket and read for hours. Imagine that in todays world. - the backpack scavenger hunt. You rent a backpack for free that has scavenger hunts and activities inside. Cheekwood during the Christmas and Easter holidays is amazing. The have Santas sled, real reindeer, cookie decorating and much more. This is a much needed time-out from the stress of everyday life and well worth the time and effort! :) Visited May 2014
