We Need to Think How Others Would Feel after Terrorist Attacks: Expert An international studies expert says terrorists should be condemned and that people should put themselves in others shoes to understand how others would feel. CRI exclusively interviewed Shen Dingli, vice director of the Institute of International studies at Fudan University. He says the terrorists in France should be condemned because they used terrorist means to achieve their political goal. If they couldnt tolerate vocal or written expressions against their saint, at the very least, they should have used legal means rather than brutal and violent ones to express their view. Shen also says we need to respect differences among different civilizations. When we respect others due rights, our own rights would likely be better protected. Last week, France suffered the worst string of terrorist attacks in recent history. It began with gunmen invading the office of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and shooting everyone in sight, continued with the shooting of a policewoman and the siege of a Jewish supermarket, and eventually saw 17 people killed by January 10. Today, more than three million people took part in unity marches across France, and more than 40 world leaders joined the Paris march, linking arms in an act of solidarity.
