We Should Care About The Population Growth. There would be no poverty on this Earth if every greediness disappear and the rich men share all what theyve got. This is somewhat true, but a little bit too idealistic because one thing is not the fault of the present global economic system and greediness but the fault of something even greater. This, in fact, is the population growth on our planet. Which can really be known for sure is that no economic system is capable of maintaining a population of which number is increasing so rapidly. (It was only 450 million in the Middle Ages and 800 million in the 19th century, 1.2 billion around the begging of the 20th century, 2 billion in the 1950-s then 3 billion in the 1970-s and 7 billion in nowadays). Unfortunately, it seems more clearly that even if we would do everything for the establishment of new agricultural areas, the furtherance of better, greater yield of harvesting, the much healthier nurturing of domestic animals on farms including their effective propagation through reproduction, we would still not be able to compete with the rapidly growing population which not just grows its number but its needs too. Not to mention that the creating of new animal farms, pasture-lands, meadows and agricultural lands would require the clearing and removal of even more forests, the drainage of marshlands, destroying the natural habitats to create enough place. By the way, thats what weve done so far. Now, we could talk about the taming of dry rocky lands, planting the deserts and establishing many arable lands at deserts, but it wouldnt be enough yet! Because the more arable areas means more production of food and the greater production of food would mean the feeding of higher number of inhabitants. But it also means that the population would be on a growing tendency because of more goods for the people including their families. The end of this, like a vicious circle, is that the growth of population will reach a number again, when it wouldnt be enough food and source of nutrition for everyone. This will automatically result in the growing number of starving people and contribute to the pauperisation of certain areas. The more chance for better life also means the higher probability of greater and populous families which require more food to stay alive. We can draw the conclusion that even if our society would be available to provide enough goods for everyone, every nation the problem will not disappear. Because itll be back a few decades later and the same old story starts over. What Im talking is already happening in Africas and South-Eastern Asias poorer regions but its even more urging in India and Bangladesh. I dont want to blame them and will not do it, but these nations havent done anything to moderate and control the too high number of births. And now they are undoubtedly here where they are. We dont need to be professors, scientists or good observers to see that in India there are many poor families with children who not only have no chance for a better life but dont have enough food either. The lack of food is the direct result of the too many people who -as consequence- cant have enough goods. What happens if the Earths population will reach 9 billion, for this is what most scientists and experts predict. According to the current growth the Earths population will reach this number between 2050 and 2060. Until then, we will experience the lacking of even more sources and the much lesser productivity of agriculture and economy. Its not a prophecy but real possibility which will automatically result in a new and much longer world recession as well as new wars are also probable. After all whats happening in the world its really not an exaggeration. May be our children or grand children will be raised in poverty....... So the whole problem - in a wider sense - stems in the tendency of peoples reproduction. Therefore, firstly it needs to be clarified for many people, through awareness raising, that we must keep the Earths population at a certain level and control the number of births and only then, our sources of food and other sources, spare stocks will be competitive with the populations needs. Im thinking of creating a balance on Earth. However, As long as we do nothing for it, there will be famines, riots and wars for food and water. Until then, the pain, languishing, torturing, dying will not stop and cant be stopped. We must face this problem, take actions, create very convincing awareness raising if we really believe in the future of our race. Conclusion: The more people the more need of food and the more people also means lesser food production, which will result in the malnourishment of even more people. Because the food production and the population growth is, unfortunately, in inverse proportion. Not to mention that in the countries of the Third world the population growth is the fastest and so the growth is more significant than in the advanced countries of the Western world because on Western world the population is ageing. In the countries of the Third world and the famine zones, people are less educated and dont have enough knowledge on how to align the number of birth to their capability of raising their children. More awareness raising on how to keep the needs of society and the number of births in balance, would be required. Eventually, when there is poverty and famine in the Third world is not only the fault of the Western world but the fault of poor education and the continuous and irresponsible prolificaction. Many of them want to have too much children and its not the responsibility of the Western world. The birth control should be the liability of the countries of the Third world. Whether we like it or not this is the truth.
