We absolutely love what we do. A lot of people ask us, Whats it like to be full time independent musicians? So.... OK, brace yourselves..... A day in the life: Social Media - Facebook Twitter Instagram Email Youtube Booking - Research Initial Email Phone Followups Tour Planning Bookkeeping - Guarantees/Door/Tickets Merch Sales Payroll Personal Finances Promotion - Posters/Flyers Radio/In-stores Event Calendars Ads/paid efforts Content - Videos Recordings Photos Blog Posts/Newsletters Rehearsals - (the good part) Find time that works for everyone Perfect arrangements and performances Record demos Practice parts at home Repeat as often as possible Write/Record - (the really good part) Schedule writing time Try to write amazing song Teach the band the song at rehearsal Record demos Schedule recording time that works for everyone Recording day Mix the song Master the song Shows - (the great part) Travel 1 to 5 hours away Check into hotel Sound Check 2-3 hours before the show Perform as amazingly as possible Hang out and have a little more fun Have people ask you what your real job is Go to hotel Pass out for 3 hours Repeat until successful And the crazy thing is, its all so unbelievably worth it because of the of the times when our lives are absolutely magical because of what we do. Thanks for hanging in there with us. Were not planning to stop any time soon. Now, back to work.... ;-)
