We admire her resilience in the face of hardship and difficulty. - TopicsExpress

We admire her resilience in the face of hardship and difficulty. But as workers, we should also be empowered. We should not accept things as they are when they are unjust. We must say no to employers who only wish to give us one day off a month when it is our legal right to have a weekly day off. In fact, we should be demanding to be treated like all other workers, with benefits such as public holidays and limits to working hours. What we want is EQUALITY. We are not even asking for special privileges and benefits! No employer or agent should ever prevent us from owning a hand phone. It is our RIGHT! But we cannot ask for our rights as individuals. We need to build solidarity so that we are more effective in asking for the change we want to see. We need to have a collective voice because there is strength in numbers. To all the domestic workers out there, join HOME, take part in our activities, volunteer with us and be part of a movement for dignity, hope, and justice for all migrant workers!!
