We agree! From the Ballet Foundation Teaching all types of feet: If we are honest, some feet have a very difficult journey en pointe. Especially in America- we find ourselves with these feet in our classrooms and we want more than anything to help these dancers enjoy the art of pointe work. Try not to discourage a dancer or ignore them because they do not have the "perfect foot". You might be surprised what they can do! Some are blessed with extreme arches and the ankle strength must be developed to support them. Some dancers have low arches and must really stretch and work the tops of the feet to create enough curve to bend the shoe and be on the box correctly. There are all kinds of feet and good and bad that come with them all! Be encouraged! With good training, a really good fitting for the right shoe and dedication from both the student and the instructor many of these students CAN do well on pointe! (Obviously - safety must come first- so never put a dancer on pointe that is at risk of injury) https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=651000224939996&set=a.140878242618866.17213.140554649317892&type=1&theater
