We all have our WTF moments as we look around at the world. During - TopicsExpress

We all have our WTF moments as we look around at the world. During this particular season, the one that gets to me the most is the pathological, sanctioned violence of football, and one Michael Vick, dog killer. It baffles me how these athletes can make millions while teachers, social workers, nurses struggle to pay the bills actually doing good in the world, while the world watches in delight while over-clad men tackle each other over a ball - AND welcome back a DOG KILLER. The whole thing disgusts me. The people who deserve second chances arent getting them, while this walking and sort of talking piece of human excrement with NO SOUL makes money I cannot even comprehend and people CLAP. I try to keep my wall all cute puppies and a drama free zone, but we as individuals and a society at large need to stop and think about it. If you watch it, you CONDONE IT. As Dante stated, The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality. And this is a moral crisis, make no mistake. Now, I know I have avid sports fans as friends. And I may lose a few over this, but the truth often times hurts, especially when there is something we enjoy being scrutinized. We dont wanna see it, we dont want to look. But, as animal lovers, ethical human beings, we must ask ourselves the cost. Children are watching what we do, and just telling them Michael Vick served his time, and therefore gets to be in a roll model position, isnt cutting it - look at what is going on with our youth. I for one am petrified. I am also getting pissed off at people not being able to think critically and make decisions based on their findings. Now, the argument might be made that one bad apple doesnt ruin the bushel. Problem is that bushel WANTS him there, enjoys benefits therein, and are making MILLIONS off a murderer. Psychologically, these individuals cannot be fixed, the pathology has literally changed the way they are wired, and there is no rewiring a sociopath (old term, but it fits). So please give thought to all this. Buying a jersey means the organization that thinks being a dog killer is A-OK, and welcomes him back is profiting. And sitting silently on the sidelines …. Well, Dante has that covered.
