We all know of the stories of Enoch and Elijah who did not suffer - TopicsExpress

We all know of the stories of Enoch and Elijah who did not suffer physical death on this earth. Both were taken up by God and did not die as we will die. We find those descriptions in Genesis Chapter 5, verses 22 through 23 on Enoch and in 2 Kings Chapter 2 verse 11 on Elijah. However, God does not do signs of prophecy in twos. . He does them in threes. There is a third man mentioned in Hebrews Chapter 5 and in other chapters in Hebrews. This man was first heard of in Genesis chapter 14 verses 18, 19 and 20. That man was also mentioned in Psalms 110 verse 4. He is Melchizedek, the King of Salem, the high priest of the Most High God. He it was who came out with bread and wine after Abraham had reclaimed his brother Lot and all his goods plus all the people and goods carried away by Chedorlaomer and three other kings. Melchizedek blessed Abraham and praised the Most High God for delivering Abrahams foes into Abrahams hands. This Melchizedek was a man without genealogy, that is a father and a mother to identify him as to his blood line. He also has no beginning or end as there are in all the other lineages n the bible. We might infer from this that Melchizedek did not die a earthly and fleshly death as we will. In Psalms 110, David calls the Lord a high priest after the order of Melchizedek. The Lord his was speaking of is the Messiah, Jesus Christ. In Hebrews, Paul goes into some discussion of the pre-imminence of Melchizedek. For in those times, you could not be a King of a Priest if you were not born into the blood lines of Kings and Priests. For instance, only the Levites were allowed to perform the duties of a priest for the Hebrews. There is no genealogy showing his is true of Melchizedek. Now, if we look at Jesus, He had no earthly blood lines. His blood lines were all heavenly. The reason He is considered to be of the root of Jesse is that he was born of a virgin in the family of Jesse. Therefore, He has no earthly blood lines that would make Him of an line of Kings and priests, however, He is considered to be a King and Priest of the most High God, on the order of Melchizedek.
