We all know that stress can cause health problems. When you experience stress, your bodys natural reaction is to release the hormone cortisol. In small doses, cortisol isn’t harmful to your health. But if you experience chronic stress, elevated cortisol levels over time may add to sleep, mood and memory problems, and could even contribute to abdominal obesity. Cortisol levels are at their peak between 2-4 PM. Eat a snack that can combat these levels. What foods? Spinach, beans, microgreens, and dark chocolate are just a few. I think I will reach for my super special piece of dark chocolate now infused with green tea and made out of pure cacao!
