We all need a bulls*&$ meter, because it`s very easy to be an armchair expert from the safety of the sidelines. So my deal was that after I spent my 70th birthday in a halo, from busting my neck in a fall 3 years ago, the doctor said, You were lucky----Don`t do it again. That`s a direct quote. But then this year I thought, careful, buddy----how can you pontificate about stuff like daring to try, swinging lower leg, yada, yada, if you don`t put your butt in the saddle and take at least a little risk? So my BS meter was to jump 4 feet again, and do a couple of jumper shows on a couple of different horses, so at least I wasn`t entirely all hat and no cattle. I didn`t think this was all that courageous because stuff like this is still pretty easy for me, but I didn`t want to slide too far into the realm of why doesn`t that big talker put his money where his mouth is?
