We all need to step forward and serve others in these rolls. Ive been in tricky situations stepping forward and speaking out but I survived and I just could not NOT do something. Was I scared? - YES and shaking in my shoes!! I do not understand how fear conquers a CROWD of people when faced with ONE person??? No one has ever stepped forward WITH me. I had always hoped that if one person stepped forward, others would follow. But sadly it looks like Im on my own. Perhaps the answer is that I do not fear death. I dont know. I do know that as a child, I was blessed to have a wonderful priest, Father Vaughn of St. Marks Roman Catholic Church in Greencastle, PA, who had a way with children and telling stories of God, the Bible and Heaven. He also came to the parishoners houses and held weekly get togethers for the kids at the parish rectory. He absolutely lit up my soul with his stories and preaching to us. He is certainly the reason Ive never feared death. Perhaps he and God and a mighty band of angels stand with me in those moments and I am not alone after all.
