We almost lost our puppy Tim today. I gave him a piece of pork chop (no bone) and he tried to swallow it w/o chewing, it got lodged in his windpipe and he quit breathing, was frothing @ the mouth, brown stuff coming out of his nose. I flew to the vet in my pajamas barefooted, I kept having to revive him in the car because he kept passing out, was absolutely terrifying. He was not breathing when we got to the vet, They pulled open his mouth and it must have went down because he finally started breathing, respirations were very moist for a while, but he is home, very tired, and most likely hungry because Im afraid to let him eat just yet, but he is safe and will be fine. Thank you to the great girls @ Ashland Road Animal Clinic for taking him right back and caring for him on your lunch, and for putting up with my weepy ass.
