We already have a huge topic for next week with the patient/physician (and office) relationship on the docket. I am confident that it will fill the hour! However, in addition to the traditional Monday morning quote I thought I would throw a question out there for general feedback/consumption... Young parents such as myself are always told to "cherish every moment" of this time of our lives, especially with our kids. This usually comes at a restaurant when you are covered in refried beans and you can barely hear from the purple-faced screaming inches from your ear. Our contemporaries as well as our elders give us advice on many aspects of our lives, from family to career to car maintenance. I think at the root of these statements are sincere intentions and possibly also some regret over missed "opportunities" they do not want to see us miss. They want us to learn from their mistakes, which we should appreciate! I always value "insider information" on how to go about something after someone else has already learned the hard way. But, how much do we still need to figure out for ourselves? Do we really hear what people are trying to tell us with these statements? I guess we could ask the same question of the Monday morning quote! Does it have any real impact on our life? Or is it gone in 30 seconds after we read it, stand up and bang our shin into the coffee table? So, here it is. If you could give one piece of advice to anyone about anything, what would it be? What is the most important piece of advice you have ever received?
