We always like to hear of events anyone has planned, in the Manchester area for the MNDA, so we can give them a mention for you. We have one weve just got back from, theres another thats climbing up a mountain as we write, and loads more impressive fundraisers as well :) We were delighted to be at the Trafford Centre Bell Tower this afternoon, to see sisters Sarah Davies and Lizzie Jones complete their abseil, a truly fantastic effort! They did it for Danny, their proud Grandad (who was there to watch), and you can read how proud they are of him, on their sponsor link below. https://justgiving/abseil-for-danny/ We will, of course, bring you some pics and the footage later today from the Abseil! We currently also have Zen Krysha Hameed on her expedition to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, in loving memory of her Dad. We wish Zen Good luck with the climb, and are rooting for you, on your amazing journey. Youll get a Bacon Barm on arrival, and a two course meal as well, plus prizes and more! Its £40 per person, or £160 for a team of four. For all the info, please see the poster, including how to book! 15th November, as mentioned at our recent branch meeting, Stacey Kerr is organising a Northern Soul night in Tyldesley, at the Railway pub! Itll include music of course, food and a charity raffle, sounds like a good night to us, and weve included a poster for it! 12th December, at Leigh Miners, Vikki Hodkinson will be holding a Who Killed Santa murder mystery night. £15 and food is provided as well! Saturday 13th December, Rochdale Style Magazine celebrates ten successful years of publications at Rochdale Town Hall in December, and they are having a Charity Ball. See the poster! Their charity ball, in aid of Springhill Hospice and Motor Neurone Disease is planning to be a memorable night out with Rochdale born singer Harriet Eaves entertaining guests together with string quartet Rondino Strings and you can dance the night away with a 13th piece soul jam band. Tickets are priced at £50 a ticket which includes a 5 course dinner in the majestic great hall of Rochdale Town hall. We have included Harriets interview from their last edition below. 19th April 2015, we have the Greater Manchester Marathon, we have checked with HQ, and individuals will need to apply themselves, costing £45 a head. If you do wish to run the the MND Association, please let us know, so we can arrange with HQ for T-shirts etc. greatermanchestermarathon 26th April 2015, Thomas Clare will be running the London Marathon, in memory of his Dad Peter, who the family lost to MND in 2010, after a four year battle. Stacey is climbing the mountain, in loving memory of her mum.
