We are about to begin our fifth season producing these great spring flowering perennials. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every page follower for your support. The intention of this page is to celebrate and promote Garden Primroses raised in Ireland. The Primrose is very much suited to and has a long history in Ireland. Our garden Primroses come from a very different era of Irish history and very different to the new intensively bred less robust bedding type Primroses available from late Autumn. Hopefully these Spring beauties will someday awaken many of the lost but positive activities of those very different times that we may reclaim the good from our Anglo Irish past. Our primroses have been selected for gardens and container planting of modern times where tall building shade their growth as trees would in their natural habitat. They have survived over 150 years of garden history have come from old and new from old collected lines. My work on old Irish primrose genetics owes exclusive thanks to a quiet unassuming and charming Primrose collector and breeder Joe Kennedy. Joe can claim credit for saving and improving these varieties for posterity. Through my hands and the hands of our nursery staff and customers and onwards to your garden they will add colour to many Sping day hopefully beyond another 150 years. We hope these plants can be divided and shared amongst your friends for many years to come. Thank you for being a fan of Irish Primrose. This short documentary piece I post often as it just about sums up the sentiment better than I can explain. youtu.be/dyPtM8dpZB4
