We are all animal rescuers. We all empathize with animals that are abused, afraid, injured, neglected. Most of us will, and do, go out of our way to help any animal we can. It is not a sacrifice on my part, nor on yours, but it is something we feel driven to do! I wish every human felt the same! If the entire human race had the compassion of most animal rescuers we wouldnt need Animal Rights! But most of the human race exploits animals! Whether personally or by proxy, most people murder animals. They enslave them, they eat them, they wear their skins or upholster with it. They entertain themselves by torturing bulls, shooting wildlife, imprisoning dolphins, racing horses and dogs. They boil dogs and lobsters alive, steal calves from their mothers, crate the babies, slit the throats of sheep, camels and goats to please Allah, cruelly trap animals for their fur. And on, and on! A pretty despicable species are we humans! But we persevere because people can change. If we didnt believe they could, we wouldnt be in this movement. I know people can change because I have changed! I once was a Conservative. I am now a Liberal. I once was a Christian. I am now an Atheist. I once was a Capitalist. I am now a Socialist. I once ate meat. I am now a Vegan. I once lived for myself. I now live for all.
