We are all broken and wounded in this life. Some have chosen to grow strong at the broken places. Others have opted for the role of a victim. I have loved freely and unconditionally, but have often met rejection, betrayal and abuse. I will love freely and unconditionally anyway. I have trusted in and believed the best about others, only to encounter broken trust and the unexpected ugliness of human nature. I will trust and believe the best anyway. I have tried hard to succeed at a task, but have often encountered failure. I will try hard to succeed anyway. I refuse to cocoon and insulate myself from all the bliss and dangers of life and relationships. I choose to remain engaged in the gift of life. To do otherwise is a breathing death. I am determined to grow strong at the broken places, remembering that, The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18 NIV) Will you join me?
