We are all familiar with praying for forgiveness. Yet, if our repentance is sincere, we should not stop there, especially when we can actually be delivered from evil (Matt 6:13). Thus we see that forgiveness, while vital, only trims back the branches of sin; confrontational deliverance, on the other hand, gets to the root of our iniquity. And yes, it will probably involve a fight; true, it will take perseverance. But stay with it. For in the end we will actually be delivered of the root of sin (Matt 15:13).
