We are all going to grow old one day That my friends, is a fact Our hair will slowly turn to grey and our body parts will sag Well not remember who you are or why we entered this room Well not understand new technology and well need to turn up the volume Our eyesight will probably diminish Our teeth will no doubt fall out We wont be able to hear so well So youre gonna have to shout Well not have control of our bodily functions Especially if we sneeze Well complain of aches and pains and we may need replacement knees Our dress sense will turn to comfy Well be more aware of what we spend Well lose track of what the in thing is And have no idea of the latest trend Our cupboards will be full of pills Creams and ointments as such Our mantel will be full of photos Of family that mean so much The one thing that well still have left Is the ability to love from the heart Well embrace you as you walk through the door And probably let out a little fart So please dont forget about us When were old and fragile Pop round and well put the kettle on You only have to stay a while That brief and fleeting visit be it once or twice Is something well look forward to It really would be quite nice You may get bored of hearing about our past and all our ailments too But please come and see us Because youll get old one day too.
