We are all objecting to our breech of privacy by the federal government, who pulls all of our personal data into a central database under the guise of "Business Records". DID YOU KNOW that private industry has been selling their secret and fraudulently collected third-party data to private parties for years? (Think UPC codes on every product, book, piece of clothing, food, etc connected to your credit or debit card purchases) There is big money in supplying mailing lists, phone lists, and all of the "micro-targeting" data that is being sold to Political Parties, Unions, Politicians, Candidates, Advertisers, Businesses, Banks, Corporations, etc. in order for them to "target" their audience or supporters during election season or advertising campaigns? I suggest that we sue any private enterprise that does not keep OUR PRIVATE DATA secure. Using fraud and trickery to mine your name, phone and e-mail has to stop. If a group wants your info, they should ask YOU for it, not a private company, group or government agency (SOS - DMV, voting registration and record, etc). Data Mining has become one of the fastest growing and lucrative industries in America. Make sure you get the contractual assurance that "we will will not sell, reassign, or share your data with others" before you knowingly offer your private information to anyone - and sue if it is violated. QUESTION: Did you fill out the long-form census questionnaire (under perceived penalty of law)? Did the questions seem rather invasive? If you reported anything other than the number of persons in your household (under the constitution), you VOLUNTARILY gave the government data they have no business collecting. As long as we remain fearful of the "penalty of law" we will continue to be violated. How do you think the government (and others) are able to assign all these "labels" to us? (gender, age, race, religious affiliation, etc) It is YOUR responsibility to protect YOUR identity. Stay vigilant.
