We are all out of the hospital (again)!!! Carters surgery went very smoothly. He has yet to take anything for pain after and is just slightly annoyed that his right leg is numb still making it difficult to walk. The anxiety of having it over is a huge relief for him! Charlie also got discharged today! He still has quite a bit of pain so the regimen of medications is nearly hourly now. I told Dr. C I wasnt concerned about managing the schedule at home but wanted to be sure I was up to speed on what complications to look for again. His response well as we talked about before we are still learning as we go in Charlies age group and of the less than 100 kids I have performed the TPAIT on Charlie is the first to have intussusception! Way to go Charlie-setting new standards again. Charlie still is unable to eat anything at all. His liquid only (which he really isnt drinking much) diet poses a little bit of a challenge in the apartment while making sure the rest of the family doesnt starve. Charlie has been a trooper about this though tonight! I can guarantee I would not be as nice as he is if I hadnt eaten in over 3 weeks! We are all very happy to be together again tonight! Praying that we are done with hospitals, especially trips to the OR!!!!
