But before we sharpen our pitchforks and light up the torches, consider the fact that one of the two cops shot in the massacre was Muslim. Officer Ahmed Merabet died trying to defend against Muslim extremists. He was a victim himself. Its easy to blame terrorism on Islam but its hard to wrap our minds around the fact that the victims of most terrorist attacks (not in the West) are innocent Muslims themselves. One study estimates, In cases where the religious affiliation of terrorism casualties could be determined, Muslims suffered between 82 and 97 percent of terrorism-related fatalities over the past five years. The people behind this attack were horrible, terrible people.
