We are almost there ! £ 200 out of £ 500 pledged on Day 1 today itself ! Kindly Donate Two Events to Mark 25 Years of Kashmiri Hindu Exodus in Kashmir due to Jehadis ! Dear friends , We feel the pain as We have been there! Nearly 25 years back on 19 January 1990 several of our community members witnessed a similar horrifying episode - mass exodus and ethnic extermination of the Kashmiri Hindus (Pandits) in Kashmir. It seemed what was the coldest winter and the longest night in waiting. We were asked to Leave or Die lest we were raped, tortured and brutally murdered. Overnight, we were rendered homeless and that dark day and today we are still In Exile. We are strangers in our own country - waiting for a way to return home. As a remembrance of that sad day when we were uprooted from our homeland, we are organising a series of events in January. We are raising funds to help us make these events succesful. Please may I urge you to make a small donation to help us. Our Just Giving project page: https://justgiving/…/KashmiriPanditsDisplacementDay… The funds are being raised to make the following programmes happen and a follow up publication of case studies and first person stories of victims of the mass exodus: PEACE MARCH on 17 January 2015 (Saturday) starting at 12 noon from Trafalgar Square and ending (2 miles) in a couple of hours again at Trafalgar Square. The link to RSVP for the event: https://facebook/events/1539656132986481/ MEMORIAL EVENT on 19 January 2015 (Monday), 6pm onwards featuring an exhibition, film screening and First hand accounts of What happened that night at the House of Commons, Westminster. This is a limited invitation only event and please let me know if you are interested in attending. ‘25 Years – We Remember’ an exhibition of 25 stories, poems, artwork from the displaced Kashmiri community in the UK and abroad – which will be compiled into a publication. A seminar (open to public) on the Kashmiri Hindu exodus in a prominent London University. (more details to follow) In order to make these efforts succesful I write to you for not only your participation but also humble request to make a small donation to help us pay for costs associated with publication, printing, materials etc. It is my solemn appeal to you to support the initiative via our just giving page: https://justgiving/…/KashmiriPanditsDisplacementDay… Please may I urge you on behalf of KPCS, UK, to Donate generously to the fund that will make it happen. KPCS, UK is a non-profit, non-membership fee group that plans and executes events based on needs and demands of the Kashmiri Hindus. The team of volunteers (including myself) are putting a lot of time and effort into organising these events and it is all voluntary. We will also gratefully receive any help or advice that you may be willing to offer. Look forward to walking together in solidarity on the 17th January 2015 at Trafalgar square. justgiving https://justgiving/…/KashmiriPanditsDisplacementDay… WWW.JUSTGIVING.COM
