We are aware that there have been several rumors about 64 bit client support and availability in other Aion regions, specifically North America. First of all, there seems to be an apparent misunderstanding in the term “64 bit client support”. With some adjustments, every player in Europe is able to run Aion in 64 bit. Users in North America can start Aion in 64 bit with their game launcher. Please keep in mind that NC West in North America is a publisher, like Gameforge. They receive updates, new client version and fixes from Korea just as we do. NCsoft Seoul does not support the 64 bit version in regards to further developments, bug-fixing or 3rd party implementations such as Hackshield, for example. Those are solely limited to the 32 bit version. This means that it is up to every publishers own responsibility to decide the scale of their efforts in regards to the 64 bit client. Should NCS at one point in time decide to stop further deliveries of 64 bit binaries for future updates, availability of the 64 bit version will cease on the very same day. There is no bug fixing and no technical support for the 64 bit version which means every trouble with it will remain untouched. This is the official word from our developer and what we communicated to you, our valued communities. Likewise, we cannot take responsibility for actions taken by other publishers like stated above. We hope to have created a little bit more transparency to the 64 bit client situation with this statement.
