We are back from school holidays and we have had some more wonderful parents offer to help at the fete. I’d like to welcome on board Carolyn Jones, who will be taking on the show-bags and sundries stall. Lucky Carolyn gets to choose the show-bags and novelties we will be selling on the day. I wonder what will be popular with the discerning under 12’s in 2014? Lisa Beale, will now be ably assisted and supported by Jo Ryder with the plant stall. Lisa has had some great ideas for value adding to this stall with an activity for the children as well as planting up some mixed pots of succulents. Got to love such enthusiasm 6 months out. Sharon Merrick, will be running the welcome tents and as we have 2 on the go for the duration of the fete there’s plenty of room for an extra co-stall manager in this area. Leigh Walker, from Hampton Junior Soccer Club, will be running a “beat the goalie” event on the lawn beside the BER buildings. And Deb Hillman-White, has accepted the challenge of the Fairy-Floss, Snow Cones & Cold Drinks. (It’s the stickiness and the popularity that makes this stall so challenging!) Mean while there are still a few things with which we’d like to have help with; the good news is the list is shorter now! I know there are people who will make jams, cakes, plant cuttings and donate wine, books and clothes, but the best gift of all is your time, so please think about where you might fit in and who you’d like to help on the day.
