We are back from the vets,a little poorer,but at least i know whats what with Doris Chook now. She has been given antibiotics for her resp infection,and had a health check.All i can do is make her comfortable for the rest of her life.Her restricted diet must continue,as should her daily strolls around the garden.It would be so good for her to lose just 1 kg.it would make moving and breathing much easier for her.She weighs a massive 7.5kg!!! Her skin has healed nicely,and the soreness around her chest should ease now she is on soft straw and grass. Stress MUST be kept to a minimum,as she has fatty build up around her organs,so she will not be reintroduced to the other hens at all,nor will i try to find her a friend(although id make room for more rescues if needed,obviously!!).The rabbits keep her company She was a good girl and is now resting in her outside run.
