We are considering why God is trustworthy. We have seen that God - TopicsExpress

We are considering why God is trustworthy. We have seen that God is always just and fair. He can do no wrong. We have seen He cannot lie. Today, we will see His word is good. What He says, He does. The Bible calls that faithfulness. Num 23:19b 19 …….. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? When we embrace this aspect of God’s nature, we will be able to trust Him even when we don’t understand and even when things seem difficult. Maybe you have prayed for something and you didn’t get it and now you are disappointed. Maybe you have had a personal tragedy and you don’t understand. You have asked God, “Why did you allow this to happen?” Trust Him. He always has a plan that is unfolding in our lives. If we just wait, we will see He is faithful and will do His best for us. There may be no better example for us of God’s faithfulness than His care of Israel. He made promise after promise to them and fulfilled all of them. Josh 21:45 45 Not a word failed of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass. As it is with Israel, it is with us. Faithfulness is one of God’s most important qualities. He promised Abraham a son, the Israelites a land of their own. He promised the Messiah and He promised harvest, blessing, protection, deliverance from Egypt, and restoration after captivity. He promised He would gather them in their own land once again as He completed His purposes in this age. He did so in 1948. God has 100% accuracy. He is worthy of our trust. Deut 7:9 9 Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations
