We are currently living through our first Tropical Storm, the - TopicsExpress

We are currently living through our first Tropical Storm, the second named storm of the season, Bertha. Ive been watching her movement online for the past week and started getting things ready yesterday, bringing things in, making sure we had enough water, just in case. This morning, I woke up and there was actually blue skies showing and I felt a bit disappointed. We took the kids swimming and I was surprised that the pool water was actually cool, like a lot cooler than it has been since March. When we went out, it had started drizzling a bit and the wind was picking up ever so slightly. It started to pour around 1:40 and it rained steadily for an hour os so, then it calmed down and I was able to sweep out most of the water on our back patio, as we had a small pool on it. I thought that was the worse of it, but now Ive just read that at 2pm, Berthas centre was still 65 miles out of Grand-Turk, so we havent seen the worst of it yet. It started to pour once again and this time my patio pool is back. There are a couple gusts of wind, but still nothing worse than what Ive seen in Canada. There is lightning and thunder, so I know shes close and I started getting a headache around the time the first downpour started, an indication that the atmospheric pressure was changing. So, so far, lots of rain, small pools in the front and back of the house, but nothing major. Ive missed the sound of rain falling, but Ive not missed having to stay inside because of it. I will update later tonight.
