We are dead to sin but alive in Christ! - Why do we fight it, as - TopicsExpress

We are dead to sin but alive in Christ! - Why do we fight it, as though the word of God weren’t true? Do we decide not to believe it, or is it too uncomfortable to live it. Do we not read the word and believe it or choose to ignore it? The word says: “Romans 6:1-4, 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” - What this means is that as a Christian, no matter what denomination you follow, non-denominational, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran etc (I am not making light of any denomination, there are just to many to list) we are ALL dead to sin. Another word, sin has no power over you, the devil, Satan, Lucifer, lost, and he knows it. You are free. - The scripture also says in Romans 5: 6-11-5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. - We are not the same after we accepted Christ, as the scripture says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. ALL THINGS…ALL THINGS…we are new. Under the old covenant we as sinner, full of sin, engulfed in sin, had not right or ability to enter His presence, but NOW “we can BOLDLY come before the throne of grace and obtain MERCY and help in a time of need” There are those that would try to weaken you conversion by saying you must do thus and so to be saved. The scripture says: Romans 10:9 - that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. - If you add anything to believe, it is a work. Of course we repent (Metanoya, change your mind, line up with Gods thoughts), because we love the Lord; we desire to turn from our sin and follow him. - My reason for this writing, to confirm that if you accepted the Lord during a church service where the pastor said “ every head bowed, every eye closed” and you prayed the prayer that said “Lord, I believe you died for my sins and I accept you as Lord of my life”…You are saved. Now, repent of your past life, realize you are dead to sin, but alive in Christ…else you wouldn’t even exist on this earthly realm. You are a NEW creature, never existed before, brand new, a child of the light. You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. Jesus said “I am in you and you are in me and we are in the Father…Do you believe it? Are you ready to change the world? Tell others about the love of God. The scripture says: Romans 2:4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? He is good, He loves you. Believe His Word, trust in Him.
