We are delighted to report that thanks to the generosity of Israeli born businessman Ady Gil, the monkeys imprisoned inside the recently closed Mazor Farm now have a bright future. Intended for medical research, their future remained uncertain with the closure of the farm. However, Ady Gil who has bought all 1,400 monkeys, has committed to caring for them and releasing them into a sanctuary where they can live freely. Many of the monkeys, some imported from Mauritius, were imprisoned at this facility for breeding, while others faced being exported to laboratories around the world to be used in cruel experiments. For many years the BUAV has supported the campaign groups in Israel- Let Animals Live, Behind Closed Doors and ISAV (Israeli Society for the Abolition of Vivisection) to close down Mazor Farm and we are so grateful that the monkeys are finally getting the freedom they deserve.
