We are delighted to share this very honest review written by Abhie Zibran on Powersurges performance during DeshTV Phonolive concert Close-up Caller Gaan 2014 Written by অভী জিবরান They did not 1, not 2, ........FIVE METALLICA Covers in that show which apparently was a regular weekly phonolive show in one of the TV channels which has been heavily criticized for their endorsement of Indian Artists in each big festivals. On the other hand Powersurge being famous by winning the crown of Drockstars, still remained Undergrounded in Bangladeshi Band Music Scene in spite of being one of the members of BAMBA. They have been in hibernation most of the time after the release of their debut album Auprostut Juddho. 8 years and only 1 phonolive concert before that day on the same channel many years back - I did not watch their 1st show, but Im sure that wasnt much to talk about as these phonolive shows have been struggling to cop up with Heavy Metal Music due to their limited sound resources. But things began to change to a positive direction from last 1 or 2 years with more channels, more phonolive shows. The biggest improvement came in the sound. And lot more Metal and Rock bands are getting to show up every now and then, which somehow involving the not so much into Tv people into Tv to watch their favourite band after long time on phonolive shows. Its great to see the rock scene is emerging and coming to limelight with bands like Mechanix,Nemesis, Arbovirus, Black are getting more exposure than ever before. Powersurge finally unleashed themselves as a reward of strong dedication and regularity in Underground shows to phonolive with Caller Gaan,DeshTV. And how well they did!! MY O MY, they knocked it out of the park with sheer power, attitude and courage making an ordinary TV studio into a killing field. That reminded me of memories of Drockstars back in the day, when I could not sit and watch their performances. Basically Its not warfaze, not artcell, but Powersurge got me into Headbanging. Its pure Bangla Metal. So many years, only 1 album of songs, almost nothing in mixed albums. This proves how good those songs were and how good they have been on Live. Samir Hafiz, Nahian, Jamshed the 3 frontmen who has been there since the beginning are still carrying that skill successfully and galvanized me to the TV screen and got me to forget about my recent change in lifestyle after being married. I locked my wife out of the bedroom and watched the whole show on the edge of my seat headbanging and shivering with Goosebumps! Thanks to Sazzad Hossain for producing the finest sound Iv witnessed on a phonolive show for a Thrash Metal band (I still dont know how he pulled it off and nobody else cant!) The show had great moments all the way. Starting from Celebrities like George Lincoln D Costa bhai, Shahan Kabondhos phone calls, Jamshed Chowdhurys wits and composure in front of a complete puppet-like Host Mehnaz. And offcourse the way they astonished everyone with mixing their setlist with 5 METALLICA covers. It was one of those nights. The most popular Metallica songs we used to witness in most of the UG shows, but they performed them flawlessly. If you watch the videos, you will feel like you are literally watching Metallica of Bangladesh. Yes! Powersurge pulled off smthing even Artcell could not do all this time. Im sharing on of their first covers on facebook with the most awaited ONE. You can go crazy as many times you want to by watching it as many times you want. Its all yours! Thanks Powersurge. Thanks DeshTV. Written by অভী জিবরান https://facebook/AbhieZibran/posts/760990973946780
