We are done with our clean out! Now the plan is to have a scope tomorrow with a gastric biopsy, and switch his Gtube out for a GJ tube (it bypasses his stomach and all his food will go into his small intestine.) We are going try the GJ tube for a few weeks and see if it helps, if we dont see any changes, we can easily switch back to his old Gtube. This is a big step because now he has to wear his backpack 24/7. We are doing this so he wont reflux/throw up and aspirate. Many children with neuro disorders die of aspiration pneumonia and Okley is extremely high risk for it, since he cant swallow. Pray I am making the right decisions for my baby, I hate to think I would ever put him through unnecessary procedures or tests, but I couldnt live with myself if I did nothing and something terrible happened. Say prayers that he does well tomorrow in the OR and this helps him!
