We are excited to bring you another update, can’t believe it’s been a month since the last one already! As a result of the Lord’s provision and your prayers, we have landed in another place (same community) that has allowed us to carry on our services with out opposition from the community. We realize there will be opposition in the ministry of the Gospel, but we feel it is important to keep peace with the people as well and not harden hearts. Needs: As the church grows we will need a place suitable to hold services along with other rooms for children and youth ministry as well as a nursery. (Places like this are very hard to find and can be very pricey.) Fortunately for now a man who rents an Event Center has allowed us to rent on a month-to-month basis. So when the Lord provides us with the place He has in mind, we will be ready. As for now we are enjoying what He has provided. Blessings and Thanksgiving: Where God guides God provides. Hector Velarde (the pastor of our church here) and I just got back from the border at Eagle Pass, TX. We were able to meet with Pastor Bill of CBC Andrews to pick up chairs for the church. Thanks Calvary! We also want to thank all of the children in Vacation Bible School who raised an incredible gift. From the bottom of our heart we thank you for supporting His Work! Way to go kids! We also have been blessed with Leslie’s sister Tania who joined us from the beginning. She has been an incredible help with the kids, house, and ministry. Right now she is in prayer about God’s next step, whether to stay here with us or go off to Bible College. Keep her in your prayers. Leslie and I have found our place serving the children, and we love it! Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for such is the kingdom of heaven.” Whether we get to teach 10 kids or 10000, we will not forbid them. I believe that if you can’t teach children the Gospel, than you shouldn’t teach at all. Our Gospel is not complicated; it is simple enough that even children can understand. I am not sure of all the great things that God has planned in our future, but we see great things today and we rejoice in it! ☺ Prayer Request: I think the main thing that I could ask prayer for is the hearts of the people. In the Parable of the Sower, we see that the most important thing is the condition of people’s heart. We can share the Gospel all day long, but if the heart is not ready to receive the Gospel, for whatever reason, than the seed is useless. The reason may be the cares of this life, one’s desire for pleasure, or maybe a hardened heart towards God because of life’s circumstances that hiders them to believe. That is why I believe it is important to daily be a light to the world. Walk in the Spirit of God’s Love towards the people, being merciful and graceful to them, and by this testimony of God’s love their hearts may be softened and prepared to receive the truth of the Gospel! Also pray that their eyes may be open to see the Gospel, They need to know God’s grace and mercy through the redemptive, finished work of Jesus Christ. He died and rose, and paid for the sins of all man. He does not desire sacrifice, but faith in Himself. Our good works are but filthy rags when it comes to our position before God. What Paul said in Romans 10 is relevant here as well: “For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to Gods righteousness. For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”
