We are getting ever closer to planning some trips to Durban to cater for all of you who expressed so much interest. The attached video will give some idea of sailing conditions for this time of year. These trips will be undertaken in North Easterly winds with a more than 24 hour window so that we can have a comfortable sail all the way down and as far out into the warm Mozambique current to see as much sea life as possible. We leave before sunrise and arrive in Durban after sunset. Disembarkation will be at the Point Yacht Club walk on moorings on arrival. It can take anything from 12-18 hours depending on wind strength, current, etc. Yes the whale migrations are starting so we may encounter whales along the way but bear in mind that this is a coastal passage and not a whale watching trip. Sightings will be incidental to the trip. Maximun 5 passengers 3 crew. Cost R1,800.00 per person. Light lunch and soft drinks included. BYO permitted. Passengers wanting to accumulate operational hours logged on passenger vessels for their passenger endorsements on commercial passenger vessel tickets, as well as private Skippers and Yacht Master tickets, can use this trip for that purpose as the charter captain is commercially registered to those ends and the vessel is also registered as a passenger vessel in addition to is unlimited category registration. Please contact Izak, our Charter Captain on [email protected] so he can send you the pre-trip survey.
