We are glad to inform members of Literature and the World that one of our own a member of this group and young lecturer in the department of Political Science, BUK Mallam Basiru Musa Makarfi authored a new and interesting book on african politics. The book exposes and educate students and the general readers on the nature, character and intricacies of Africam politics from the pre-colonial, colonial and post colonial eras. The book seeks to equally equip its readers with the necessary theoretical prisms and Schools of Though, such as systems theory, Modernisation and Dependency Schools of Thought with a view to enhancing their capacity to critically, objectively and independently analyze political phenomena and in turn, provide the solution or antidote to some of Africas political problems, such as recurring political instability, political atavism and inanity, endemic corruption, chronic unemployment , grinding poverty, savage inequality, anomie, human rights violations and poor observance of the rule of law with so many concomitant evil and catastrophic consequences for Africa and Africans. The book sheds more light on the phenomenon of globalization, its positive and negative effect on the continent and the endogeneos and exogeneos factors responsible for africas marginalization in global politics and international affairs. Some of these factors include: brain drain, domestic mismanagement of the economy, polity and society, international control of financial and monetary system, especially by the Bretton Woods twins (IMF and World Bank), international control of science nad technology, Western comtrol of the media, pervasive lack of democracy, pervasive conflicts, failure of African integration, foreign debt crisis, perverse trade and failed SAP policy.
