We are grateful to the Wayne County Humane Society for hanging in there during a very ugly and very long trial regarding animal cruelty residing through a non registered, self-titled, ironically named Bright Futures rescue. Despite all the lies distributed through social media, justice has finally been served for these poor 47 dogs who will now finally be able to get real homes. Throughout this, WCHS has been accused of horrific things like benefiting from the monies Jane Smith (director of Bright Futures) posted. Pls note - those monies have never been given to WCHS so the burden of these 47 additional dogs was completely on them. There WAS no financial gain, and this took a huge toll on a small humane society. We can only hope this case is finally closed and the woman gets the help she clearly needs. And the thugs and trolls who threatened and belittled all of us who held fast to the truth? May you all crawl back under your rocks. Your work is done here, and finally these animals will get the chance at life they deserve.
