We are happy to announce that we are now accepting Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) appointments in Lake County. For those that dont know what a Guardian Ad Litem is, it is a person appointed by the Court to investigate the circumstances of the family court case and report to the Court what they believe is in the best interest of the child/children. It basically gives the children a voice through someone whos sole purpose is to look out for and protect them. After dealing with countless divorce, paternity and other family law cases in which the children desperately need a Guardian Ad Litem and usually having to come to grips with the realization that most parties just can’t afford to get a GAL, we decided it was time to do more to help the children. Therefore, we are proving GAL services on a sliding flat fee scale. The GAL fees will be set based on the parties combined income. The goal is to make obtaining a GAL more affordable to those with less financial means.
