STRAIGHT ENTRY FOR THE FIRST YEAR WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS Students are expected to have a maximum of aggregate 36 - WASSCE examination and 24 in the SSCE. Candidates must have credits in THREE (3) core subject in English Language, Integrated Science and Mathematics AND credits in THREE (3) elective subjects according to the following combinations: Group A: Elective Mathematics and any TWO (2) of these subject, Chemistry, Physics, Group B: Elective Mathematics, Technical Drawing and Building Construction Geography, Economics, Technical Drawing and Building Construction GCE ‘O’ & ‘A’ LEVEL APPLICANTS Candidates must have FIVE (5) Credits at the Ordinary Level in the GCE including English, Modern Mathematics and the Science subject: Physics, Additional Modern Mathematics, Chemistry or General Sciences. With three passes at the ‘A’ levels either: • Mathematics and any TWO (2) of these subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Geography, and Economics • Additional Mathematics, Technical Drawing and Building Construction MATURE APPLICANTS Applicants must have attained the age of 25 years at the time of submitting the application and should fall within any of the categories below: • At least FIVE (5) Credits at the Ordinary Level in the GCE including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (Physics, Chemistry or Additional Modern Mathematics or General Science) • WASSCE/SSSCE passes in THREE (3) Core Subjects (English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science) plus credits in any THREE (3) of the following Electives: • Mathematics and any TWO (2) of these subject, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics • Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Building drawings, and Building Construction • At least FIVE (5) Credits at the Ordinary Level in the GCE including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (Physics, Chemistry or General Science) • Students with the Final part of the Construction Technician’s certificate (CTC) and have worked for at least 5 years in related field in senior position. B. HND TOP UP –SECOND YEAR SEMESTER TWO Higher National Diploma (HND) In Building Technology/ Civil Engineering Candidates with SECOND CLASS Lower or better may be admitted into the first semester of the third year, after passing an oral and written examination. HND candidates who entered the Polytechnic with D7 before 2010 are eligible to apply. The above candidates shall however be expected to have duly passed the requisite SSSC, WASSCE, O’ Level or A’ level examinations as indicated above. SESSIONS: Regular Session (Monday to Friday 7:00am-4:30pm) Week End (Starting from Thursday & Friday Evening, Saturday whole day (5:00pm-8:00pm & 7:00am-5:30pm)
