We are happy to announce we have concluded the hiring process for the 80th Basic Training Academy. We will soon begin a hiring process for the 81st Basic Training Academy that is projected to start in January or February 2015 (tentative). If you are interested in pursuing employment with us as a police officer, you need to register to take the Civil Service Exam. To see upcoming test dates, please visit the Officer of State Examiner’s website at ose.state.la.us (click testing and employment; then click entrance police officer exam). You will see that Baker will host the entrance police officer Civil Service Exam on August 4, 2014, but the application deadline to register for the test is on Monday, June 30, 2014. We strongly encourage you to register for this test. You can download the Civil Service application from the website. Complete the Civil Service application, sign it, attach the requested documents, and submit/mail the application packet to the contact person for Baker (Linda Denham P. O. Box 930 Baker, La 70704, phone # 225-775-3712 or 225-775-0936). Before submitting the Civil Service application to Baker, please make a copy of the application (and attached documents) and save the copy. The copy of the application will be used later to officially transfer your score to the Baton Rouge Municipal Civil Service Office, which we will explain to you when you obtain your score. You must achieve a passing score of 75% or higher. If you cannot register for Baker’s test, BRPD will host its own test some time in late August (details will be provided when they become available to us). HURRY!!! HURRY!!!
