We are happy to report Hayden’s surgery on his hip and spine went well! He still has restrictions on his movement, additional medication and therapy as well as reduced time at school but is happy to be home after 6 long days in the hospital. Time will tell if the de-tethering of his spinal cord helps with some of the other physical challenges he has. Today was a big day! We had the final work done on Hayden’s elevator and he was thrilled to ride it for the first time; taking many trips up and down fetching various toys and insisting on riding alone, although he and his sister had several fun trips together as well. :) We will continue to make our home more accessible now and in the future as Hayden grows thanks to the generous support we have received. Words feel inadequate when trying to express our gratitude to everyone that helped to make this possible in just less than 4 short months.
