We are happy to report that Blaze is home safe tonight with his partner in crime, Boz, and their family!! It sure was a stressful night last night for all. Here is their story. I got a call about 7 am yesterday morning from a woman who seen two dogs on her way to work in the Newberry area. Because Im in Muncy, I called and ask Tammy Gibbs to please go check it out. Our reports were saying 2 boxers. When Tammy arrived there, there were no dogs to be found. She tried to find them to no avail. When I arrived in the Newberry area and called the owner to tell them I was almost there, they informed me that they had found Boz on Fox Hollow Rd at the intersection. They were riding around looking and when they looked up the road two cars were pulled over, both with their flashers going. They had seen Boz standing in the middle of the road!! Boz was very happy to see his daddy, but where was Blaze? The woman had mentioned that Boz was watching the trees above in the woods, and that alarmed us to the fact that Blaze could still be up there so his daddy went up into the woods again, while myself, and his good friend Dave Mitcheltree drove around looking. But we didnt find Blaze. :( We searched and searched, even taking Boz back up last night to sit in the car with the door open, hoping to find Blaze. Charlynn Lockard manned the end of Fox Hollow Rd with her son as well in case he crossed over again. We did this because about 5 pm Blazes mom and dad were walking back up there to look again, and she saw Blaze cross in front of a car, then disappear into the woods above. We could not coax him out, or find him, but we all thought we heard him whine a few times. I had to come home after being gone all day, so Charlynn took the owner back there again to sit and watch the area and see if they could figure out where the whining came from because it had stopped. Still nothing.. We had them set up at their house, and late last night we figured there was no more we could do till morning so everyone went home. It was a sleepless night. I set out today to go and search again, and we were going to make some flyers and put out. Myself and Dustin road around checking some areas just in case. You see, after the call and sighting at 7 am we didnt know where they split up at, so we didnt know where to look. I had planned on coming home and making the flyers after we checked a couple other places when the call came in. Back up a few... Yesterday while searching I spoke with a Williamsport Police officer who took the report, and was going to radio about him missing in case they were called to an area where he was seen. So, the call I got today was an officer. He said that they were at an area in Newberry on Newberry St where they got a call about a dog trying to get in a fence where another dog was. We were not that far away, so we FLEW to that location. There were a few police officers watching some corners when we arrived and told us the dog was behind the house. As we got out of the car to go around and check, there was Blaze!!!! He was walking along the sidewalk on the street above us. Dustin said there he is!! I said now make sure you stoop down in case hes afraid, and let him come to you... He did, and all of a sudden Blaze realized who it was and approached. I stood there holding my breath, literally, and waited till the leash went on him, and I broke down.. He was finally safe!!!!!! Because of his breed we were so worried about getting there as quick as possible in case anyone got scared of him. But he was just wandering around, not far from home actually. There are so many people to thank!!! First, thank you to the wonderful person who called and reported the two dogs seen running. Thanks to Tammy Gibbs for going out there and looking for them, and going back out later in the day to look some more. Thanks to everyone who was riding and helping us look. Thanks to Dave Mitcheltree for helping all day. Thanks to Charlynn Lockard for the chicken, and going back out last night with the owner to look some more so I could come home and let Brindi out. Thanks to Blazes owners who did NOT give up, and trusted in me to help find Blaze. HUGE thanks to the Williamsport Police Dept for calling me and watching over him with a few squad cars till we could get there. And thanks to EVERYONE for sharing and caring!!!!! :) (Blaze has a torn paw and is limping alittle, and Boz is limping as well, alittle less today, BUT they are alive and safe!!!) WELCOME HOME BLAZE AND BOZ!!!! :)
